What is Dior?

Christian Dior is a retail company more commonly known as Dior in the fashion world. The high-end brand has made headlines with their out of the box fashion details and have set the bar high in the beauty industry as well. Currently, Dior is most known for its Leather goods, clothing, fashion accessories, perfumes, and makeup. It is excelling and multiplying in every field, setting the standard higher for everyone else to reach.

Dior has three divisions. Dior Homme caters to men, Baby Dior for children but mainly Dior Couture that is their most successful division and solely caters women.

How did Dior become such a huge name?

Dior was created by Christian Dior in 1946. Over half a century this brand has transformed into a reigning giant of the fashion and beauty industry. Dior started with one of their first fashion launches in 1947, that consisted of their spring and summer collection. The collection hoisted 6 mannequins that exhibited the new collection. This was one of the most revolutionary fashion pieces in the era. They changed up the orthodox ideas of clothing and introduced Dior’s element of glamour.

One of the dresses was called ‘bar’ and it was displayed in Moscow. The dress was a hit for its white ensemble, embellished with ruffles and soft shoulder designs. The white top was also paired with a flowy black skirt that bought tied together both masculine and feminine designs in one dress.

Later Dior expanded into the world of fragrances and marked their territory by launching its first perfume ‘Miss Dior’. This successful launch projected them further into the fragrance industry as they launched one hit after another. By the end of 1949, Dior had expanded internationally. After 75% of all fashion exports of France were under Dior, it launched a boutique in New York City. After that milestone was achieved, Christian was asked to design for the most famous faces of the land. From the first lady or Argentina to the popular stars of Hollywood like Marlene Dietrich, everyone was fashioned in Dior’s iconic styles.

Fast forward to today, Dior is an icon in the fashion and beauty industry. From its unique runway looks to elegant red-carpet pieces, Dior has taken over. Celebrities are covered head to toe in Dior’s art pieces, that are essential items in the red-carpet appearances.

Furthermore, Dior has a range of bestselling highlighter palettes and their famous Dior show mascara which is a fan favorite.

Dior took out a wide variety of nail lacquers, lipsticks, and glosses. All embellished with the Dior logo and offered in a high-end price range.
