Review for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Super Mario World 3D for the Wii U was a very enjoyable game that a majority of people and critics alike really loved. It received many positive reviews and is still regarded even today as one of the best Mario games to be released in the 21st century. During the latter half of 2020, Nintendo announced that an enhanced port of the game was coming for Nintendo Switch, titled Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury. This is not only a remaster of the original, but also features an entirely new game of its own. Today, we’ll be discussing both of said games.

Reviewing Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury

The first one we’ll be reviewing is the base game, which is the Nintendo Switch port of Super Mario World 3D itself. Taking only this port into consideration, this is one of Nintendo’s best releases in recent times. The original which was released for the Wii U was truly very fun and enjoyable, and this makes that experience even better. Not only does it make the visuals more appealing, it also clears out some annoying bugs which made the original Super Mario World 3D a little frustrating at times.

The port is a perfectly good reason to visit the brilliance of the original once again, but this time in a polished remaster that is available for Nintendo Switch users. The initial game released in 2013 featured some of the best level designs in the history of the Mario franchise. Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury maintains all of these level designs and even improves upon them at times. This aspect of the game is surely its biggest strength and most enjoyable feature. It can even be played together with friends.

Moving on, we now come to reviewing the ‘’Bowser’s Fury’’ part of Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury. This is an entirely separate game of its own, which features the story of Bowser being corrupted by some kind of evil black ink. Bowser Jr. asks Mario for help to return his father to normal. Two players can go on this adventure which features some really neat levels, but poor execution which ultimately makes things feel anti-climactic. Regardless, Super Mario World 3D + Bowser’s Fury is still very fun and it is especially enjoyable when you get down to playing it in a group of friends.
