Lady Gaga

Written by on January 18, 2019

Known as “Lady Gaga”, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is one of the most talented, American singer, songwriter, and also actress worldwide. The American basic cable and satellite television channel, Entertainment, stated to her, “A raw, unfiltered examination of an artist in her element”. Her motto says everything about her “I want to do the opposite of everyone thinks I am going to do” and she never backs down.

She is one of the rarest artists with true talent. Her first song she wrote was when she was 4 years old. Her parents said that she always wanted to be a star, and now she has achieved that with her persistence and of course her talent.

In 2006, Def Jam Recordings offered her a contract but shortly after they cancelled it. After that she was working as a songwriter for Sony/ATV music publishing, but after the American singer Akon helped her to sign a deal with Interscope Records, she started slowly to rise. The very same year she promotes her debut album “The Fame” in 2008 and made a boom, especially with the songs “Just Dance” and “Alejandro”.  The album has electropop and dance pop style influenced from 1980s music. From the songs, lyrics and even from her video spots, you can see that wants to capture the love of fame, but also everything that comes with it like love, sex, money and drugs. In spite of those elements, the album received great reviews from critics and also for her vocal ability. It became the fifth best-selling album of 2009 and one of the 100 Greatest Debut Albums of All-Time.

The world wanted more of her and in 2011 she made her second album “Born This Way” and it was very different from her previous one, with electronic rock and techno. The critics about this album were that it features a broad range of genres like disco, house, heavy metal and rock and roll while her lyrics included more religion, sexuality, freedom and feminism. She stated that she was inspired from many artists. In this album you can sense the influence of Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Bruce Springsteen. Lady Gaga wanted to show something to the world and even there were so many negative and conservative comments about her and her album, it reached the third global best-selling album in 2011 and received worldwide support.

Something different happened with her music and in 2014 “Cheek to Cheek” album was released in cooperation with Tony Bennett. This album consists of jazz standards by popular composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, and Irving Berlin and bring her to the whole new level.

Her last album was in 2016 called “Joanne” with a little bit soft rock and dance-pop style in which her vocal abilities were emphasized. This album was full with emotions and dedication to her late aunt Joanne Stefani Germanotta. Within this album she has stabilized more, started to work on other projects, like designing a clothing line and to appear in the film industry like the great film “A Star Is Born” for which she won many awards!!
