Dead Anarchy – The Original Sin

Music video for The Original Sin.

Swedish has always produced lots of great Hard Rock and Metal bands and they have a culture that prides itself on the quality of groups they produce. And in that regard, this band, Dead Anarchy, is a very interesting case because is a supergroup of sorts that has members from the Metal, Hard Rock and Punk scenes, thus making a very promising project.

And their lead single, The Original Sin, is a proper statement that good old fashioned Rock ‘N’ and Roll is alive and well in the underground.

When you consider the backgrounds of the musicians involved, it is quite fascinating to hear how this song has a bit of everything for everybody: a bit of straightforward Rock ‘N’ Roll, some Heavy Metal rhythms and a bit of Punk in the vocalist’s deliver. Also factor in the fact that this group has a wide array of musical influences, such as Michael Monroe, Napalm Death, Entombed and many more! That allows for a lot of different grooves and feels, which is something that is clearly shown in this single.

The music video also shows a bit of the band’s sense of humor and approach to things: them just jamming and joking around with the same camera angle is something that highlights the kind of personalities that they are and how they work, which is pretty cool, all things considered. And this is something worth taking into account: they don’t need a lot of cool shots or flashy imagery because they let the music do the talking, as Joe Perry once famously said.

As for the song, it has a strong rhythm section, with the bass having a noticeable presence in the mix while maintaining a catchy groove. But the riffs are definitely the main appeal here and they are straightforward, dirty and have the bite of Metal with the speed of Punk, which is always a very nice mix!

Like I have mentioned before, the vocals also have that Punk feel and they are done extremely well. The vocalist was also a part of Swedish rockers Grand Rezerva, so I knew what he had in his locker as a singer and he did not disappoint!

Singles are meant to be teasers of what a band or an artist is meant to be and this is definitely a very good case of what Dead Anarchy is, so I truly recommend this because they are worth your time.

You can follow the band in Facebook and in their YouTube channel.
